Privacy Policy

Precious Seeds is a free Bible app for iPhone, Android, and the web, and this website at preciousseeds.org. This policy explains what the apps and website do with information. The short version: we do not collect personal data, and the apps do not send anything about you to us.

What the apps store

The apps keep a small amount of information on your device so they can work the way you expect. None of it leaves your device, and none of it is sent to us or to anyone else.

• Your reading position (book, chapter, and verse), so the app can return you to it.
• Your chosen Bible translation (King James Version or Berean Standard Bible) and text size.
• The date the daily word of encouragement was last shown, so it appears once per day.
• Verses you bookmark or highlight, and any notes you write about a verse.
• Which reading plans you have started and the days you have marked as read.
• Whether you turned on the daily reminder, and the time you chose for it.

The daily reminder is a local notification scheduled by the app on your phone. It does not use a notification service, and nothing about it is sent to us.

Listening to the Bible

When you tap Listen, the app streams that chapter's recording from openbible.com, a site run by Bible Hub. Like any website you visit, their server receives the request, including your IP address, in order to send the audio. We do not receive anything. Audio is the only feature that uses the internet; everything else works offline.

Sharing a verse

Sharing a verse as text or as an image uses your phone's own share sheet. What you share goes only where you send it.

Deleting the app, or clearing the website's site data in your browser, removes all of it.

What we do not do

• No accounts. There is nothing to sign up for and no login.
• No analytics or usage tracking of any kind.
• No advertising and no advertising identifiers.
• No third-party SDKs that collect data.
• No selling or sharing of data, because there is no data to sell or share.

Website and web reader hosting

This website and the web reader at preciousseeds.app are hosted on Vercel. Like any web host, Vercel's infrastructure may keep standard, short-lived server logs (such as the IP address and page requested) for operating and securing the service. We do not add analytics on top of that and do not use those logs to identify visitors. Vercel's own privacy policy governs its handling of that information.

Gifts

Gifts made on this website are processed by Stripe, which handles your payment details under its own privacy policy. We never see your card number. We receive only what is needed to record the gift: the amount, Stripe's fee, and, if you choose to share it, a first name and last initial for the public ledger. You can also give anonymously. Stripe may email you a receipt if you enter an email address at checkout.

Children

The apps and website do not collect personal information from anyone, including children under 13.

Changes

If this policy changes, the new version will be posted here with an updated effective date. Because the apps collect nothing, we expect changes to be rare.
